BioI'm a counseling ed graduate student at the University of New Orleans about 2 semesters away from graduation. I also work as a Training Coordinator/On-Call Supervisor/Quality Assurance Supervisor/Call Center Counselor/Tech Assistant for a non-profit in the metro area (yeah, I wear many, many hats). I'm also slowly getting healthy one step at a time.
I my spare time I love hanging out with my friends, reading good books, and writing. Sometimes my life feels so very crazy but it's all part of getting where I want to go, step by step.
I often refer to myself as an Anguissette, a term coined by Jacqueline Carey in her novel Kushiel's Dart. The main character, Phedre, suffers through many trials. She also gains pleasure from pain, something I do not share with her. However, the following definition illustrates exactly why I place this title on myself:
Anguissette - one chosen by the gods to endure suffering untold with infinite compassion
For no matter what I have endured, I have always remained compassionate and giving. It is the person that I am and always have been and it is the person I always will be.
